I fully believe in embarrassing people on their birthday. Even more so when it's someone you're incredibly close to.
It's my wife Ann's birthday today, so I just want to wish her happy birthday in as embarrassingly public a forum as possible. You are the world to me, Ann, and I will be making sure your birthday is a memorable one. You cutie.

I write fiction. My latest novel, Shriek: An Afterword, is now out in the US, published by Tor. I'm currently co-editing a series of anthologies with my wife, Ann, who is also the fiction editor of Weird Tales. We have three cats, all of whom have eccentric personalities. Soon, I will be moving to WordPress and my happiness will be complete.
