Just a few iterations of the Prime Books cover for Secret Life. Design by Garry Nurrish. Out in November, I think. This trade paperback will be a little different than the GG edition in hardcover. I've deleted some of the earliest stories, put the story notes at the end, and am adding some sort of Afterword, in addition to some little hidden doors and passageways... Thanks to GG for giving the go-ahead on this project.

Why must you go around tweaking content from format to format? I have the GG book, and it's looovely, yet alas, no longer definitive. Le sigh. I'll live.
Most of the time it's because I'm not happy with the initial result. In this case, I'm actually deleting stories because the collection is too damn long. What I'm adding you can indeed live without. :)
No new stories are being added, except in the most experimental way, so...

Just my $0.02: I like #3 the best. The bright blue background of the text box doesn't really mesh with the rest of the design.
So what prompted this new edition?
GG doesn't generally do trade paperbacks. I like the first one, myself. The text at the bottom of the third won't show up too well, I think.

i'll buy it even though I have your hardcover version. I'll buy this new version to have as a "reading" copy. The hardcover is more collectable and a beautiful book in it's own right as well as being the true first edition.
