Right. We're off tomorrow morning to do a KGB reading, to hobnob with editors and marketing and PR people. We're feeling good, but not cocky. We're alert but not brash. We've washed, but we're not spotless.
Next week--Ben Peek's best-of music list, and a lot more. In the meantime, have a good week, and hope to God Evil Monkey doesn't follow me to the Big Apple.

I write fiction. My latest novel, Shriek: An Afterword, is now out in the US, published by Tor. I'm currently co-editing a series of anthologies with my wife, Ann, who is also the fiction editor of Weird Tales. We have three cats, all of whom have eccentric personalities. Soon, I will be moving to WordPress and my happiness will be complete.

Was in attendance at KGB, and was so dazzled by Jeff's reading that today I paid an outrageous sum for the rare, lavish first edition of City of Saints and Madmen, a book I extoll to friends and passersby with the fervor of the ancient mariner.
