BLOG SPAM, MOUNT MAROON, AND SPECTRUM RADIO--A Brief Interruption

It's Jeff--I'm posting from an internet cafe in Brisbane after a really successful four days of the Brisbane Writers Festival. We've met fascinating people, had a great time sampling local beers, and just generally enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Yesterday, we climbed Mount Maroon on the writer Nick Earls' suggestion and saw kangaroos, a huge monitor lizard (or something like that), a kookaburra (sic), and lots of lorikeets. The view from the top was magnificent. Next, it's on to Sydney for the reading at Galaxy Bookshop, among other things.

Also was just interviewed by John Weeks for Spectrum Radio out of Melbourne. The piece will air on this coming Saturday.

Finally, I've enabled word verification for the comments so as to cut down on the spam. It's unreasonable to expect Luis to delete all of the existing spam, but you should experience much less spam from this point forward. I'm loathe to get rid of the comments field, but that would be the next step.

Cheers,

Jeff

PS Been loving the guest bloggings--carry on!
