Makes ya proud, don't it? I remember years back when my dad found his name bandied about for a Pulitzer in journalism; he didn't get it, but I'm still proud of him.

It does make me wonder if there is a fire fighting ant as well, scrambling around to extinguish blazes from their pyromaniac cousins (who I believe can be identified easily by their habit of continually flicking their Zippos open and closed - no doubt your esteemed Pa can confirm this).

Wow. It never occurred to me that someone might be working to eradicate fire ants--I just assumed we were stuck with them now.

As a Florida resident, I heartily applaud his work. Tell him I'm thankful for his ant-ass-kicking efforts.

Or whatever one kicks on an ant.

Yeah, Nathan, I'm very proud of him.

As for the rest of you--you're all nuts. :)

I just read the article: excellent work, though I can't help but wish he had been interviewed by a more graceful writer. And more to the point: did your dad have you when he was six years old or something? He looks so young...

My dad's in his 60s. But he runs a lot--does marathons and stuff. That's a pretty recent photo, though.

Gives me hope I won't be bald in 20 years!
